Philosophy
We strive to be a community leader and partner in helping our students succeed in building a philosophy of life and purity of human values.
During class, we practice the philosophy of the Dojo Kun by continuously trying to improve our techniques, making an honest effort, striving to overcome our physical limitations, and showing respect for each other.
Percussion Dojo philosophy emphasizes the continuous improvement of one's character. This is reflected in the Dojo Kun, or "Dojo saying", which we repeat at the end of each class:
Our Values
Integrity
We practice the highest standard of personal and business ethics in all our interactions, continually building relationships through honesty, trustworthiness and reliability.
Respect
We respect the unique contributions of every student, valuing the diversity of their experiences, ideas and initiatives. We ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn and contribute to the Dojo in a way that enriches her or his personal development.
Personal Responsibility
We believe that it is our personal responsibility to grow and create value for Percussion Dojo. As a result, we each take ownership for and pride in enhancing the school's performance and reputation among students, peers and the communities we serve.
Teamwork
We become stronger as a family through teamwork with students from all rank levels. We support and reward innovative thinking and collaboration that achieves our mutual goal of building a successful school.
The Percussion Dojo system places great importance on mental attitude and strives to develop qualities such as respect, loyalty, and confidence. Students must continually strive to perfect themselves and train both mind and body to act as one. As a basis for further instruction of these arts, students must always show their instructors and fellow classmates that they are worthy to receive the knowledge.
